Our assistant coaches, former college baseball players, bring invaluable experience, and Coach Eaton’s expertise as a former pro scout ensures you’re ready for the next level.

Meet Coach Eaton-"Prepare with dedication, passion and resilience, and the wins will follow."
Daytona Beach Christian University is thrilled to announce Coach Thomas Eaton as the new Head Coach for our men’s baseball team! With over 30 years of experience in baseball, Coach Eaton brings a wealth of knowledge and a passion for mentoring young men in athletics and faith.
Coach Eaton has coached at high school, college, and professional levels, including roles as a scout for the Cincinnati Reds and Kansas City Royals, manager of the USA Military All-Star Baseball Team, and coach for the Spartan Alley Cats and Anderson Joes (Independent League). As the founder of TEA Athletics Post Grad, he has empowered overlooked student-athletes to excel in academics and athletics, helping many secure college roster spots and even make their MLB debut.
An active member of the American Baseball Coaches Association, Florida Minority Alliance Association, and National Commissioner of the Metropolitan Junior Baseball League, Coach Eaton is committed to fostering leadership and community. Residing in Port Orange, Florida, with his wife Darlene and their dogs, Eddie and Daisy, he enjoys golf, billiards, and travel during the offseason.
“We’re excited to have Coach Eaton lead our baseball program,” said Athletic Director Andros Desir. “His expertise and faith-centered approach will inspire our student-athletes to grow as players and servant-leaders.”

Brady Bakner

Coach Bakner serves as the Associate Head Baseball Coach and Director of Baseball Operations. In this role, he oversees program operations while also coaching hitters and infielders and directing the team’s strength and conditioning program. During his playing career, Coach Bakner competed for two seasons at the junior college level and three seasons at the NCAA Division III level. He played as an outfielder and left-handed pitcher, bringing a versatile, player-centered perspective to his coaching approach. In addition to his collegiate responsibilities, Coach Bakner serves as the manager of the Geneva Red Wings of the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League in Geneva, New York.
