Unique Programs
Community Service
At Daytona Beach Christian University, we believe in the transformative power of spiritual service to the community, and thus, all our students actively participate in various service initiatives throughout their academic journey.
Through volunteering at food drives, hospitals, community park maintenance, services for the elderly, sports camps for youth, literacy programs, and more, students not only contribute positively to the community but also experience personal growth and fulfillment.
Engaging in service activities fosters empathy, compassion, and a sense of responsibility towards others, instilling valuable life skills and character traits.
Additionally, these experiences provide students with opportunities to apply classroom knowledge in real-world settings, enhancing their understanding of societal issues and community needs.
Furthermore, the university benefits from a strengthened sense of community engagement and social responsibility, fostering a culture of service that extends beyond the campus borders.
Ultimately, through spiritual service, students, the university, and the community at large experience mutual enrichment, fostering meaningful connections and positive change for a better world.
Faith-Based Entrepreneurship Incubator (FBEI):
The Faith-Based Entrepreneurship Incubator (FBEI) at Daytona Beach Christian University is designed to empower students with the knowledge and skills necessary to launch and manage businesses rooted in Christian values and ethics. The program offers a comprehensive curriculum, including courses in Christian Business Ethics, Social Entrepreneurship, and Faith-Inspired Innovation, providing a solid foundation for ethical business practices. Students benefit from a mentorship program, pairing them with successful Christian entrepreneurs who guide them through the nuances of faith-driven business leadership. Additionally, the annual pitch competition allows students to showcase their business concepts to a panel of Christian investors and business leaders, offering real-world feedback and potential investment opportunities. The program further instills a sense of stewardship by integrating service projects where students can apply their entrepreneurial skills to address and solve community issues, thereby making a tangible, positive impact in line with their faith.
Biblical Justice and Community Engagement (BJCE):
This program focuses on equipping students to engage with issues of justice from a biblical perspective, fostering leaders who can advocate for and implement change in their communities. The curriculum covers Biblical Justice Principles, Community Development, Policy Analysis through a Christian Lens, and Practical Peacemaking. Students participate in internships with justice-oriented organizations, engage in local advocacy projects, and attend seminars with leaders in social justice and policy. The BJCE program encourages students to apply their learning directly to real-world contexts, creating opportunities for discussion, action, and reflection on how to live out God's justice in modern society.
The partnership involving Aim High International Ministry, Northwest University (NU), and Daytona Beach Christian University (DBCU) is a collaborative effort known as the Northwest Partnership Program (NPP). This initiative allows students to access high-quality Christian education through both NU and DBCU, bringing academic programs directly into local churches, organizations, or communities associated with Aim High International. Under this partnership, students can earn accredited college credits towards Associate, Bachelor's, and Master's degrees through flexible online or hybrid learning models provided by NU, with DBCU contributing its own spiritual and academic resources to enrich the educational experience. The program integrates NU's academic rigor with the practical ministry and leadership training philosophies of both Aim High International and DBCU, fostering an environment where students can grow in their faith while pursuing higher education. Courses are taught by NU faculty. This partnership ensures that education is not only accessible but also aligns with federal financial aid eligibility, course transferability, and maintains the same academic standards as degrees earned on the campus of NU, thereby nurturing both spiritual and leadership development.
Athletic International Travel Experience
At Daytona Beach Christian University, we prioritize the holistic development of our students, which is why we encourage all athletes to participate in our yearly international travel experience with their respective athletic teams.
This immersive program not only allows athletes to compete in their sport at an international level but also provides a unique opportunity to study the culture of the city or country they visit.
Through interactions with locals and fellow athletes from diverse backgrounds, students gain a deeper understanding of global perspectives and cultural differences, laying a solid foundation for a worldly view.
Engaging with different cultures fosters critical thinking skills, promotes spiritual growth, and encourages experiential learning beyond the classroom.
Moreover, visits to historical and religious sites offer insights into the rich tapestry of human history and heritage, instilling a sense of stewardship for the world's cultural and natural treasures.
Lastly, the connections formed during these trips often extend beyond graduation, providing students with a valuable network for life and further enriching their collegiate experience.
Theology of Environmental Stewardship (TES)
This program at DBCU is dedicated to exploring how Christian theology intersects with environmental care and sustainability. Students delve into courses like Eco-Theology, Sustainable Living from a Biblical Perspective, and Creation Care Ethics. The curriculum includes hands-on experiences through local conservation projects, workshops on sustainable practices, and partnerships with environmental organizations where students can apply their learning. The program aims to cultivate leaders who can articulate and implement a Christian response to environmental challenges, fostering a deep commitment to stewardship of God's creation.
