Partnership with Northwest University
DBCU with Northwest University through Aim High International Ministry:
The Daytona Beach Christian University (DBCU) Partnership Program, facilitated through Aim High International Ministry, collaborates with Northwest University (NU) to bring a tailored educational experience directly to you. Through this initiative, students can earn flexible credits towards AA, BA, and MA degrees from Northwest University while attending DBCU and taking part in the Aim High International Ministry program, integrating academic study with practical leadership training in local ministry settings.
Program Overview:
-
Flexible Learning: Operating as an online program, allowing students to complete their degrees entirely online or through a HyFlex model for some graduate programs, which includes live virtual sessions or in-person classes in Kirkland, Washington.
-
Accreditation: NU's accreditation by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities ensures that all courses and degrees are recognized, facilitating transferability to other institutions, access to federal financial aid, and ensuring no asterisks on transcripts.
-
Academic Structure: The program follows a 16-week semester system split into two 8-week sessions, enabling students to take two courses per session. Full-time undergraduate students can complete up to 15 credits per semester, including optional internship credits, while graduate programs typically require 30-60 credits for completion over one to two years.
-
Course Content: All courses are hosted on NU Online, accessible 24/7, providing a consistent and flexible schedule that integrates well with students' ministry and personal lives. The curriculum includes a range of degrees from business to ministry leadership, all delivered with the same quality as on-campus courses at NU.
-
Instructors: Instructors are required to hold an accredited master's degree in their teaching area. They utilize NU's preapproved learning outcomes, textbooks, and assignments.
-
Practical Experience: Students are encouraged to participate in internships or practical ministry work, aligning their education with real-world application, enhancing their leadership skills within their local community under the auspices of Aim High International Ministry.
This partnership between DBCU, NU, and Aim High International Ministry not only provides a robust educational framework but also nurtures spiritual and leadership growth, preparing students to serve effectively in their communities and beyond.
